Man taken to hospital with head injuries after assault near Broomfield park in Swanscombe

A man has been taken to hospital after being assaulted near a town park.

Police have cordoned off an alleyway in Swanscombe while forensic teams carry out investigations.

An alley next to The Pavilion in Broomfield Park, in Broomfield Road, Swanscombe has been cordoned off

The area behind The Pavilion in Broomfield Park, Broomfield Road, was closed off earlier today as up to 10 police cars were spotted in the area close to the children's playground.

Forensic teams were later seen taking photographs and gathering evidence from a dark red car with smashed rear windows.

Police were also spotted knocking on doors and asking residents for access to CCTV cameras.

Officers were called to the scene at around 10.20am following reports of an assault.

Paramedics also attended and a man was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury. He has since been discharged.

Police have confirmed an investigation into the circumstances is underway.
