Boy taken to hospital after being hit by van in Dartford Road, Dartford

A boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a van in Dartford.

The emergency services were called to Dartford Road, near West Hill Primary shortly after 9am this morning.

Kent Police say they were called to reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a boy.

Paramedics also attended and the pedestrian was treated for a leg injury.

He has been taken to a London hospital for further medical attention.

The road was closed while emergency services were dealing with the incident.

On social media there were reports of heavy traffic and several buses getting stuck at the scene.

Police say the road has since reopened.
