Two lanes were closed on the M25 following a crash near Dartford.

Police reported slow moving traffic because of an overturned car on the clockwise carriageway near junction J1B with the A282 at Littlebrook Bridge.

Kent Highways warned: "Carriageway now closed between J1a and J1b due to an RTC. Emergency services in attendance. Traffic being diverted off at J1a. Expect delays in the area."

Highways England added: "Emergency services require this main carriageway to be closed for a time so all traffic will be coming off at #J1A #LittlebrookBridge and so the entry slip at that junction will also be closed."

In an update just before 10am Highways England said in a Tweet: "Unfortunately the traffic collision has proved to be serious. We are working to get the trapped traffic cleared as soon as possible."

"Officers are currently at the scene with South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue. One lane of the carriageway is currently closed. The driver of the car has been taken to a London hospital for treatment."
