Delays at Dartford Crossing due to broken down tipper lorry

There are long delays near the Dartford Crossing due to an incident involving a tipper lorry.

The vehicle is believed to have broken down on the approach to the tunnel heading towards Essex around 3pm.

Traffic officers have been called to the incident at the junction of the A282 and the A206 and a lane closure has been put in place.

Highways England has said this may take some time and has advised drivers to use alternative routes.

The west tunnel at Dartford has since reopened but a lane closure remains in place.
