Driver stopped at Dartford Crossing travelling at 100mph

A motorist has been caught by police driving at more than 100mph in a 50mph zone.

Officers stopped the car at the approach to the Dartford Crossing at about 9.10am this morning.

After pulling the vehicle over, Kent Police RPU tweeted the driver was "in a hurry to get home".

It wrote: "Vehicle seen speeding at over 100mph on #A2 and #M2 through 50mph limits by @KPTacOps.

"Assistance provided to stop vehicle. Driver in a hurry to get home!"

The motorist was issued with a traffic offence report.

This is the second driver in the last 24 hours to be caught by police travelling at more than 100mph.
