A care home has been reaching out to neighbouring healthcare providers through the power of home-baked treats.

Haslington Lodge in Greenhithe delivered some shortbread goodies to nearby Livingstone Community Hospital in Dartford's East Hill.

The specialist dementia care provider said it wanted to reach out, in what is a difficult time for most, in a gesture of friendship.

Sally Ann Briggs, care home manager at Haslington Lodge, said: “We just wanted to give something back to our community and good friends at the hospital.

"Everyone is so distracted right now, working hard and making the best of the situation. We felt our colleagues at the hospital deserved a treat and a reminder that we appreciate all their hard work.”
