Long tailbacks remain on the approach to the Dartford Tunnel due to a crash on the M25 and broken down vehicles.

Earlier today National Highways closed one of the tunnels – the right side route – while crews dealt with their recovery.

Traffic officers attended and cleared the vehicles involved around 5pm. Both sides of the tunnel are open again.

However, there remains heavy congestion on the M25 anti-clockwise approach to the Crossing.

It's due to an earlier crash involving a van which has left the carriageway near junction three for Swanley.

One lane is closed and long tailbacks are forming back past the Darenth Interchange towards junction four at Badger's Mount, Sevenoaks.

All emergency services were in attendance.

As of 6.40pn the incident has now cleared, and all lanes have re-opened. National Highways says congestion in the area is now easing.

More as we get it.
