M&S Bluewater colleagues have been supporting NHS staff at Darent Valley Hospital by supplying drinks and making drawstring bags for uniforms.

Customer assistant Julie Clubb made over 40 drawstring bags from M&S pillowcases to hold NHS uniforms, in response to calls for help from her daughter, who works as a ward sister at the hospital.

The bags allow staff to store their used uniforms at the end of a shift and place them straight in the washing machine when they get home, without having to remove them from the bag and risk contamination. M&S Bluewater has also been supplying soft drinks to staff on the intensive care unit, all kitted out with straws so they don’t need to remove their PPE.
