Man arrested in Swanley for shining laser at police helicopter by Dartford Bridge

A man was taken into custody following reports a laser was shone into a police helicopter from a vehicle.

The 41-year-old man from Eltham, south-east London, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs, a knife and endangering an aircraft as he was travelling towards the Dartford Bridge.

Police received reports at around 9.40pm, on Monday, May 4, that a laser had been shone from a vehicle travelling along the M25 in Thurrock.

The vehicle was stopped at the Swanley Interchange along the M25 and a passenger was arrested.

The man has been released on bail until Monday, June 1.
