Man charged after meat and groceries stolen from supermarket in Swanley High Street

A suspected shoplifter has been charged after five reported thefts from supermarkets.

Shane Bignall, of no fixed address, was arrested after groceries were reported stolen from a shop in Swanley High Street between June 8 and September 16.

Bignall was due to appear before magistrates today

The 35-year-old was stopped by police officers in Orpington on Monday (Nov 2) and was later charged with the crimes.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court today.
