Severe delays after crash between car and HGV on M25 QE2 Bridge in Dartford

Drivers were facing severe rush-hour delays after an HGV and a car crashed.

Traffic queued for seven miles following the incident on the M25 QE2 Bridge clockwise at J1A A206, in Dartford.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "KFRS was called to a crash involving an HGV and a car on the M25 near to junction 2.

"Two fire engines attended and crews helped to make the scene safe."

National Highways said the A282 between junctions 1B and 2 southbound was temporarily blocked this morning after the collision.

It has now fully opened and no injuries were reported by emergency services.

Earlier today, there was also congestion tailing back from J29 A127 in Romford, on the A13 back to Grays and tailbacks from J31 back past Lakeside in Thurrock.

Travel time was 1 hour and 20 minutes after traffic was stopped for 30 minutes at around 6.30am.
