Knife-wielding burglar fled scene in Swanley after being challenged by neighbours

A burglar threatened neighbours with a knife and fled the scene when he was challenged following a break-in.

Police have now released CCTV images as part of an appeal into the incident, which happened in Swanley on Monday.

They say items of jewellery were reported stolen from a property in Philip Avenue, after a window was forced at around 10.30am.

The suspect was approached by residents after leaving the address and chased in the direction of Cyclamen Road, where he is alleged to have fled after threatening them with a knife.

An investigation into the burglary is ongoing and has included forensic analysis of the crime scene and surrounding areas, as well as house-to-house enquiries.
