A pub could see a new lease of life if a planning application is approved.

Permission has been requested to restore the Two Brewers pub, in Lowfield Street, Dartford, and also demolish an outbuilding at the back of the site to make way for 14 flats and a commercial unit.

The plans detail external and internal repairs to the former drinking hole, which, if approved, will open at 11am every day and close at 11pm.

The application will also see the construction of eight one-bedroom and six two-bedroom flats at the rear of the site – along with a shop on the bottom floor.

A private communal amenity space will be installed on the top floor of the five-storey building with 22 parking spaces for potential residents.

Scope for residential access at the rear of the property, refuse storage and a bicycle lock-up is also detailed in the plans.

A public notice has been issued as the proposals will affect the appearance of the Dartford conservation area and works will affect a listed building.

Planning officers are reviewing the plans.

Anyone wishing to make representations concerning the application should write to Planning Division, Civic Centre, Home Gardens, Dartford, Kent, DA1 1DR, or via this link.
