A serial burglar who targeted a village home is facing a long jail sentence after admitting another break-in.

Paul Mounger, of Alamein Road, Swanscombe, pleaded guilty to burglary at Woolwich Crown Court yesterday.

It follows a break-in at a property in Jarrett Avenue in Wainscott, near Rochester, in January where several items of paperwork are believed to have been taken.

The 30-year-old was later arrested and charged following a police investigation. It was discovered he had carried out the burglary not long after leaving prison for committing other break-ins.

Mounger had previously embarked on a burgling spree over the course of three months between November 2016 and January 2017.

He targeted nine properties across Istead Rise, Sevenoaks, Longfield, Gravesend, Cobham, Dartford and Chatham.

An investigation later connected him to the break-ins, a car theft and several forged number plates and he was jailed for three years.

Mounger appeared at Woolwich Crown Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to the latest burglary on January 3.

He is due for sentence on May 26 at the same court.
