One lane was closed on the clockwise carriageway just before 1pm and traffic was queuing for four miles between J3 for the Swanley Interchange and J4 for Orpington.

All lanes are now re-open following the incident, but tailbacks had been reported in both directions.

Officers were called at around 12.05pm after reports a car had overturned.

One man has been taken to hospital but police have said his injuries are non-life threatening.
