Southeastern delays as train hits bicycle on tracks at Longfield

Passengers suffered delays after a train hit a bicycle on the tracks at Longfield.

Southeastern confirmed it happened on the Sole Street line between Swanley and Rochester at around 8.15pm.

The company said: "A train has collided with a bicycle on the track at Longfield.

"Train crews are checking the track and train for damage and Network Rail staff are en route to site.

"Services cannot currently run between Swanley and Rochester and may be delayed, diverted or cancelled."

The 7.40pm London Victoria to Ramsgate train is among those to have been affected.

All services resumed shortly after 9pm.
