A family has paid tribute to a much-loved dad who was killed in a four-vehicle crash which also left his two-year-old son critically injured.

Andy Hoyle from Dartford, sadly passed away last Wednesday following the incident on the A267 at Frant on the approach to Tunbridge Wells.

The 36-year-old had been driving a blue Ford Fiesta which was involved in an accident with a white Renault Master, a silver Toyota Estima and a silver or grey Honda car which failed to stop at the scene.

His two-year-old son, who was also involved in the crash, remains in a critical but stable condition in a London hospital.

Today his family said: “Andy was a beloved son, husband, father and brother who will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

“We ask that we are allowed time to grieve privately, as we continue to focus on supporting and caring for Andy’s son.”

The road remained closed for more than nine hours following the accident at 11.11am.

A 76-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and for failing to stop after a road accident.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police investigating the crash continue to appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

They would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have captured any dash cam footage from the area around that time.
