Shortly after the offence took place, one of the victim’s bank cards was unsuccessfully used during a transaction at a food outlet in Rainham, Essex.

Jamie Barnes, 33, of Dover Close, Romford, and Aaron Sheehan, 21, of Colchester Road, Walthamstow, were both arrested on Tuesday and have since been charged with burglary and fraud by false representation.

Sheehan appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be determined.
