West Kingsdown pensioner caught in flooding up to her waist

A woman and her dog were trapped by waist high water today.

Firefighters were called out to Neal Road in West Kingsdown in the early hours of this morning after a woman was trapped in her property.

Crews were called just after midnight and sent a water safety unit and two fire engines to the scene.

The woman in her 80s was rescued along with her dog. She was handed into the care of her family.

There were no reported injuries. Crews left the scene at 3.30am.
