Woman arrested after police officers assaulted in Dartford High Street

A woman has been arrested after allegedly kicking and spitting on police officers.

Police were called to Dartford High Street shortly after midnight, after reports of a disturbance.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, and a 26-year-old woman on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

But while the woman was being taken into custody, she allegedly assaulted two police officers by kicking one and spitting at another.

She was further arrested on suspicion of assaults on emergency workers.

Both suspects are known to each other, and remain in custody.

Posting about the incident on Twitter later, a member of Kent Police Specials wrote: "A productive shift for the Tasking Unit and Medway/North Kent Specials.

"Unfortunately two of us were assaulted, myself included, however swift action was taken and nothing too serious. Not that it makes it right!"
