Woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after 'seafront stabbing' in Beach Street, Deal

A 47-year-old woman is being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Deal.

Emergency services including the air ambulance were called after the alleged knife attack in Beach Street at 5.15pm yesterday.

A man in his 50s was taken to King's College Hospital in London by road with injuries to his chest, arm and leg.

A 47-year-old woman from the Deal area was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.

Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to a report that a man in his 50s had been assaulted in Beach Street, Deal, at 5.13pm on Wednesday 28 February 2018.

"He was taken to a London hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds.

"His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

"The suspect and victim are understood to be known to each other and officers remain in the area conducting ongoing enquiries."
