A258 Deal to Dover road closed after two vehicle crash

Two casualties were cut free from a car and four people have suffered injuries in a crash on the A258 Deal to Dover road.

The collision which occurred about 11.30am at East Langdon required a significant emergency service response, with the road closed in both directions.

Firefighters in three engines helped release two people from one car by removing its doors with hydraulic equipment.

A KFRS spokesman said: "Three fire engines attended and crews used hydraulic equipment to remove the doors of one of the vehicles involved, and worked with SECAmb paramedics and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to release two casualties.

"Four casualties were passed into the care of SECAmb."

One driver reported seeing up to 10 ambulances at the scene.

She told KentOnline she was caught up in tailbacks for more than 45 minutes.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said the service was called at 11.40am.

They sent multiple vehicles including four ambulances and a Hazardous Area Response Team.

"Four patients have been taken to the William Harvey Hospital with injuries, including one female."

He gave no details on the seriousness of injuries but said three were of "more priority".

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a two-car collision on the A258 near St Margaret's at Cliffe, near Dover, at 11.30am."

The road was reopened shortly before 3pm.
