Police find suspected asylum seekers on outskirts of town centre in Beechwood Avenue in Deal

Police have been drawn in to help find suspected asylum seekers in Deal .

An eyewitness has reported seeing two people being taken away by an officer outside his home in Beechwood Avenue, on the outskirts of the town centre.

Police located the suspected refugees in Beechwood Avenue close to Deal town centre

The force has confirmed it was called to assist Border Force with an incident.

A spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to assist Border Force at 9.45am on Monday 14 September 2020 following a report of suspected migrants seen in Deal."

The Home Office has been contacted for more information.
