A cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after a hit-and-run.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after the collision between a white Land Rover and a pedal cycle at around 6.15pm yesterday in Crafford Street, Dover.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Police are appealing for information after the raid

The Land Rover did not stop and police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the collision in Crafford Street, or an incident that occurred shortly before between the same two vehicles in Folkestone Road.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 01843 222289, quoting crime report ZY/982/16. Alternatively, contact Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Just minutes later, emergency services were called to a serious incident, in nearby Townwall Street, between a silver Peugeot 206 and a pedestrian.
