A dog walker found the body of a long-haired dark brown, female cat on a trail on Monday.

RSPCA inspector Kirsten Ormerod has launched an investigation.

She said: “The cat is not microchipped and isn’t wearing a collar or ID tag so we don’t know where she’s come from.

“She doesn’t seem to have any obvious injuries so it’s not clear how or why she’s died.

"The way she’s been dumped here seems to be suspicious so I’d like to speak to anyone who saw the person responsible or who recognises here to get in touch with us.
