Serrated blade found by metal detector in anti-knife purge at Dover Priory station by police

This horrific weapon was found during railway station searches this morning.

The blade, with a serrated edge, was seized in an operation to combat knife crime in Dover.

The knife was found in a joint operation between British Transport Police, Kent Police and Southeastern at Dover Priory Station.

A tweet from BTP said: "We have been working with Kent Police and Southeastern this morning at Dover station on an operation to combat knife crime.

"This resulted in below knife being seized and a person arrested for carrying it."

Kent Police explained that officers had used a a metal-detecting walk-through arch and carried out a stop and search when the blade was detected.
