Police car involved in crash in Maison Dieu Road, Dover

These dramatic pictures shows a police car mangled after a crash.

It happened today (Monday) at the Five Ways junction at Maison Dieu Road, Dover.

This image shows a navy blue car damaged at its front, plus another police vehicle and ambulance at the scene.

The photograph was put out on a tweet.

The contributor, who did not want to be named, wrote: "Nasty crash involving a police car in Maison Dieu Road, Dover.

"All local traffic being diverted."

A Kent Police spokesman said: "At around 12.30pm a police car, which was responding to a report of a stolen car, collided with another vehicle on Maison Dieu Road.

"A passenger from the vehicle suffered a hand injury and has been taken to a local hospital, along with a police officer who suffered minor injuries."
