Police seek family of 80-year-old man, killed when he was hit by a car in Townwall Street, Dover

The police are still looking for the family of an 80-year-old man who was killed more than a week ago when he was hit by a car.

The tragedy happened just after 6.30pm on Saturday, January 9 in Townwall Street, Dover, and sparked the closure of the stretch for several hours while officers investigated.

An appeal was later released urging witnesses to come forward, which still stands.

The incident involved a Peugeot 206.

A police spokesman said: "An 80-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"He has not been formally identified and our inquiries continue.

"Officers from the Kent Police serious collision investigation unit are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or the car or the pedestrian in the moments leading up to the collision to make contact."
