A woman has died after falling from a cliff.

Emergency services descended on a beach in Dover following reports of the tragic incident yesterday.

Police officers were seen searching Shakespeare Beach while fire and ambulance services were also present.

The search and rescue helicopter was also called following the incident, which happened at around 2.25pm.

Following the search, the woman was found after having fallen from a cliff near Old Folkestone Road.

Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene, with the death not being treated as suspicious.

The victim's next of kin have been informed and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
