A man has died after being hit by a train.

Emergency services were called to Gravesend station at 5.53am yesterday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended but British Transport Police later confirmed a 23-year-old man from Gravesend was pronounced dead at the scene.

They said the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Southeastern cancelled all services between Strood and Dartford due to the incident.
