A person was struck by a train last night.

Southeastern confirmed that it happened between Gravesend and Dartford, leading to no trains running between the two stations.

In a tweet at about 9pm yesterday the company said: "Because of a person having been hit by a train between Gravesend and Dartford, there are no trains running between these stations."

It said that replacement buses have been ordered.

Updates later last night said that emergency services were clear of the line and the trains were ready to run.

British Transport Police have been contacted to find out about the incident.
