The incident reportedly happened near the Meopham Veterinary Hospital and involved two vehicles.

Police were called at 2.20pm and two fire engines were sent to the scene where a road closure has been put in place.

Firefighters used specialist tools to remove one vehicle door and release an occupant, who was then passed into the care of paramedics.

A woman was later taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

One mum, who was on the school run at the time, said: "I was literally just in a load of traffic and I asked a pedestrian and she said there has been an accident there and they are trying to cut people out of cars.

"By the time I turned around to go another way a fire engine was on the scene."
