A meeting takes place in the county next week organised by the Department for International Trade to help export firms prepare for Brexit.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson continues to insist we will have left the EU by the October 31 deadline - with or without a deal in place - meaning businesses have just weeks to prepare.

With the October 31 Brexit deadline looming, a workshop is taking place in Maidstone for the county's exporters

The workshop takes place in Maidstone on Monday, October 7 and is one of a number of similar events taking place across the country.

Places are limited, and on a first-come-first-served basis.

Among the topics to be covered are: Paperwork needed to continue exporting; impact to supply chains; changes to regulations and contracts; where to find tariff information, commodity codes and duty rates; what you might need to speak to customers and employees about; moving goods across borders; business travel to the EU; providing services to EU clients; and how to treat personal data

The event is aimed at all exporters, particularly those exporting to the EU.

It runs between 9am to 1pm.

Exporters are urged to attend the event on Monday, October 7

The event is co-hosted by accountancy and consulting firm Crowe, which has offices in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells.

It will take place at its Riverside Place offices.
