M25, between Junction 3 and 4, near Orpington closed after serious crash

A stretch of the M25 was closed for 11 hours after a serious crash near Orpington.

Emergency services were called at around 4pm this afternoon - with police, fire crews and ambulances summoned.

It has led to the anti-clockwise section of the motorway between Junction 3, for the Swanley Interchange and Junction 4 for Cobham being closed.

Kent Police said this evening: "The road is likely to remain closed for a lengthy period of time and drivers are urged to plan alternative routes."

The road reopened at around 3.30am.
