Four arrested as armed police descend on Courtenay Road, Tovil

Four people were arrested after armed police were called to a street in Maidstone.

Police patrols, including armed officers, attended Courtenay Road in Tovil at around 4.40pm on Sunday, following a reported altercation.

Witnesses reported seeing as many as eight police cars in the area.

Officers arrested a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s, both from Sheerness, a man in his 30s from Snodland and a local man in his 60s in connection with the incident.

They remain in police custody while the investigation continues.

All four were bailed to return to the police station on May 20.
