Garage blaze at Headcorn, Maidstone, tackled by firefighters

Firefighters were called to a garage blaze this evening.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene, Brooklands in Headcorn, just after 5.40pm.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and water from a hydrant to extinguish the flames, which also caused damage to a car parked nearby. "

No casualties were reported.

The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical and started accidentally.

Firefighters dealt with the blaze by just after 7.35pm.
