The Mall shopping centre car park in Maidstone has undergone a digital transformation to make it COVID-secure.

YourParkingSpace.co.uk is the car park’s new operator and the company has removed the barriers on both entry and exit to reduce the need for any physical contact.

Instead users of the 1,050-space car park will be able to pay on their mobile phone and can even use their phone to reserve a space in advance.

The new-look car park also allows registered users to be billed automatically, using ANPR technology, eliminating the need to make a payment with every visit.

Alternatively drivers will have the option to pay after leaving the car park, by paying online at the YourParkingSpace.co.uk website or using the YourParkingSpace app.

The firm's managing director Harrison Woods said: “Parking at The Mall is now COVID-secure thanks to new technology and the opportunity to make contactless payment through different devices."

For those who prefer it, there is still an opportunity to pay on exit using a touchscreen kiosk.
