Firefighters and police called to caravan blaze in Durham Close, Shepway

Flames ripped through a caravan parked on a driveway in a housing estate.

The blaze broke out at 1am this morning in Durham Close, Shepway, Maidstone with home evacuated.

Two fire engines attended and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to put the fire out.

No injuries were reported and the fire stopped at 1.48am.

Firefighters and police attended the scene

The people in the property next door were escorted from the premises while the fire was extinguished, and the caravan was 80% destroyed.

Police also were also at the scene, and the cause is being treated as suspicious.
