CCTV released after man racially abused and assaulted in Union Street, Maidstone

CCTV has been released after an alleged hate crime saw a man racially abused in the street before being hit with a stick.

The incident took place in Union Street, Maidstone, between 11.45pm and midnight on Saturday, April 1.

It is thought a man hit the victim with a stick on the head, causing injuries.

Police believe the suspect had shouted racist abuse at the victim throughout the incident.

They are carrying out reviews of footage and have now released an image of a man they wish to identify and speak to.
