Child hit by a car in London Road, Maidstone

A child has been hit by a car on a main road.

The collision happened at around 4.45pm today (June 7) near the junction of Queens Avenue and London Road, Maidstone.

Officers attended and minor injuries were reported.

A witness said: “I saw the young child sitting on the pavement and was told she was waiting for the ambulance.”

The child’s grandmother posted online saying: “Thank you so much to everyone who stopped and helped – so many kind people with so much emergency equipment!

“Her mum and dad have arrived and have taken her up for X-rays. Thankfully, she doesn’t seem too badly hurt.”

Police confirmed that the child was taken to hospital as a precaution.
