A house has been discovered to be the site of a cannabis farm.

Police, including forensic officers, have been carrying out investigations at the home on Hastings Road in Maidstone since around 12.45am on Monday and remained overnight yesterday.

Officers were responding to calls made by residents regarding suspicious activity at the address and upon entering they discovered cannabis growing across four floors of the building.

Three people have been arrested in connection with burglary offences and have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Police remained at the scene overnight, with reports that digging noises were heard outside the house at 11pm yesterday.

This morning several pieces of equipment were left outside the house including desk fans, heat bulbs, and ducting - tin foil was also spotted in the front garden.

It appears live wires have been exposed and covered by yellow safety bags in the holes police were digging.
