Driver arrested in Mote Park after fleeing crash in Woolley Road, Maidstone

A suspect who reportedly fled the scene of a crash was found after a police helicopter was scrambled.

The crash happened in Woolley Road, Maidstone, near Senacre Wood Primary School, at 4.40pm yesterday.

When officers attended the occupants of one vehicle had absconded.

With the help of a police helicopter officers discovered an injured man in his 40s, allegedly intoxicated, in nearby Mote Park.

The suspected was arrested for failing to stop following an accident, driving while unfit through drink or drugs and possession of Class A drugs.

He was treated at a nearby hospital for injuries before being transferred into custody, where he remains.
