The founder of a law firm believes the company is starting to establish themselves in Kent after opening their second office.

Tiger Law and Tiger HR Ltd first launched in 2017 in Wye, near Ashford, where they have an office on Bridge Street.

But with their team having trebled in size since the first coronavirus lockdown last year, they opened their second office - in Sterling House in Maidstone - on Monday, March 8.

It was founded by Vanessa Challess who trained at Furley Page Solicitors in Canterbury but who says she didn’t agree with the ethos and the ethics behind private practice, and so started her own legal consultancy in 2015.

Two years later Tiger Law was born and, since then, the 45-year-old’s business - which now employs 18 people - has gone from strength to strength.

She said: “We have always worked with accountants, ISAs and sort of developed a professional network.

“Once people start using us, they just keep sending us their clients because we look after them.

“We have had a steady trickle of clients.

“We are beginning to really establish ourselves in Kent.”

Mrs Challess says Tiger Law has always been keen to allow their staff to create their own flexible working hours - even prior to the Covid-19 health crisis.

The Wye resident, who used to live in Maidstone, said: “The guys would come here maybe once a week and work from home for the rest of it. But it seemed the right time to give people more flexibility.

“So they have got a hub in Maidstone. They can work from home if they want to, they can work from the office if they want to.

“But then, I have got colleagues in St Albans.

“I have got one in the Midlands and it just doesn’t make any difference because we have always worked like that, and we have got technological solutions.

“This has become very normal in the industry.

"It feels like everyone else is catching up.”

Tiger Law, which opened a family law department last August, say they have a special expertise in working with businesses who sell products or services to other businesses.
