kmfm competition win sees Bearsted man bag £1,000

A man hit with a huge car repair bill weeks before Christmas is delighted to have won £1,000 in a radio contest.

Paul Squibb from Bearstead, near Maidstone, was the lucky winner of this month's '£1,000 Friday' competition run by kmfm.

He said “I have played this game for months and never won.

"I have just had a bill for almost £1,000 for a car repair and with everything going on was wondering how to pay it.

The weekly competition gives kmfm listeners 24 hours to enter by text or online, before one lucky winner is chosen at random at 6pm on Friday.

Tonight's draw marked the last £1,000 Friday of 2021.

But Rob Wills on kmfm Drivetime announced that a Cash for Christmas contest will be held on the radio station next Friday, offering listeners the chance to win £2,000 cash to spend on Christmas shopping.

The competition begins Thursday, December 2 at 6pm and runs through to 6pm on Friday.
