A Maidstone man is to go on trial in September accused of attempted murder.

Police officers arrested Rodney Geisha following incidents on February 3 this year involving two alleged victims.

Police cordoned off the High Street end of Week Street after a man was stabbed

Geisha, 49, of Fairmeadow, appeared by prison video link from HMP Elmley and answered: "Categorically not guilty!" to each of the charges of attempted murder, wounding with intent and having a knife in public.

His defence lawyer Tahir Ali told Judge Philip St John-Stevens that Geisha denies the attempted murder of Harry Cadwallader.

He added that the defendant is also expected to claim self-defence in the second incident of wounding, involving Jake Cadwallader.

The trial at Maidstone Crown Court - set for September 6 - is expected to last five days. He was remanded into custody.
