A 24-year-old man died after falling into a harbour while on holiday in the Greek island of Kos, an inquest has heard.

An inquest was opened earlier this week into the death of Charles Frederick Williams of Sheridan Close, Maidstone, following his death last month.

The inquest was opened at County Hall, Maidstone

Speaking at County Hall, Maidstone, coroner Katrina Hepburn recorded that Mr Williams had died in a 'maritime area', while on holiday with his two sisters.

Ms Hepburn said he had fallen into the harbour in the early hours of the morning of September 8, between 3am and 4am, and had later been found and recovered by a lifeguard at around 6am.
