Police arrest man suspected of trying to entice children into his car in Aylesford

A Maidstone man has been arrested after allegedly asking children to get into his car in Aylesford.
The man 20, is said to have approached a boy and asked him to get into a black car in Greenacres.
Two days later, a man in a black car gestured to a boy playing in a front garden on the same estate.
The following day, police received a report a man in a black hatchback asked a girl to get into his car in Teapot Lane.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of causing harassment, alarm and distress, and was taken into police custody.
He has now been released, pending further investigation.
DS Lisa Featherstone, of the Maidstone child protection unit, said: “Although the children returned safely home, these were understandably distressing incidents."
“We continue to investigate these reports and would urge anyone who may have seen anything or who may have information about these or similar incidents to come forward.”
