A man was kicked in the head as he lay on the floor while another was arrested with a wrench following a brawl in Maidstone town centre.

Police today issued an appeal to help them trace four men following the fight, which happened in Gabriel’s Hill at around 11.50pm on Friday, January 21.

It involved two groups of men.

When police searched one of the suspects, who suffered a facial injury in the brawl, he was found to have a metal wrench and was arrested on suspicion of affray.

The 35-year-old, from Maidstone, was later released from custody but remains under investigation.

Others who were involved had left the area before officers arrived, including one man who was repeatedly kicked in the head and face while on the floor.
