Jordan and Tamara Towner appear at Maidstone Crown Court after toddler 'shot with BB gun'

A man and a woman have denied child cruelty after a child was allegedly shot with a BB gun.

Jordan Towner, 24, and Tamara Towner, 20, will now go on trial in November after an appearance at Maidstone Crown Court today.

Both were given bail until the next hearing.

Alastair Walker, prosecuting, said the case involves the use of a BB gun between October 15 and 20 last year.

Alexa Zimbler, defending Jordan, said the gun was a toy plastic one.

Jordan, of Springwood Road, Barming, and Tamara, of York Road, Maidstone only spoke to confirm their names.

Both were asked to confirm their nationalities and replied: "White English"

Judge Martyn Huseyin told them:" You were asked your nationality not ethnicity."
