A pair of men have been arrested following reports of a disturbance near a supermarket.

Yesterday at around 8.53pm police were called to an incident in and around the Morrisons in Sutton Road, Maidstone.

People on social media were reporting to have seen teenagers with balaclavas running around the area.

Officers attended and arrested two men in their 30s in connection to allegations of assault and remain in custody.

A spokeswoman from Morrisons said: "We can confirm that there was an incident at the store last night, the police were called and we are now assisting the police with their inquiry."
